Actors Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride appeared at New York Comic Con on Friday to reflect on their 15-year journey portraying zombie-apocalypse survivors Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. UPI reported that the appearance comes as the actors completed work on the fourth and final season of the spin-off series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. [1]

The duo starred as best friends across 11 seasons of the flagship Walking Dead television series, which took place in the American southwest. They continued their roles for four seasons in the European spin-off show. The original series ended its run in 2022. [1][5]

The character of Daryl Dixon was created specifically for Norman Reedus by show writers Frank Darabont, Charles H. Eglee, and Jack LoGiudice, and does not appear in the original comic books. Over the course of the franchise, Dixon evolved from a defensive outsider into a quiet leader and caregiver, forming a close bond with Carol Peletier. [2][5]

According to UPI, the fourth and final season of Daryl Dixon has already been filmed. The final season is scheduled to premiere in February. [1]
