A Long Island father was arrested by police after allegedly using a Taser on his 14-year-old autistic son. The New York Post reported that 52-year-old Jin Chang was taken into custody by Nassau County police after school officials noticed physical injuries on the teenager. [1]

According to the New York Post and News12 Long Island, the incident was brought to the attention of authorities by the principal of a Plainview middle school. School staff discovered scratches and bruising marks on the child's neck and stomach. [1][2]

Nassau County police stated that Chang used the device to inflict injuries on his son in an effort to control him during an emotional outburst at their family home. Tasers are electroshock weapons that fire small barbed darts connected by thin wires to deliver high-voltage electrical currents to a target. [1][4]

Long Island is a densely populated island located in southeastern New York State. Geographically, it includes Nassau County alongside Suffolk, Kings, and Queens counties. [3]
