LeBron James and Tyrese Maxey lead 76ers past Knicks in NBA Cup

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New York Knicks 98-93 on Friday night in an NBA Cup game. Al Jazeera reported that Tyrese Maxey scored 27 points, while LeBron James added 20 points for Philadelphia. The New York Post also reported the 98-93 victory for the 76ers. [1][2]

According to the New York Post, the Knicks trailed by three points with 30.8 seconds remaining in the game. Maxey drove into the lane and missed a layup, but James grabbed the rebound and made an uncontested putback layup to extend the Philadelphia lead. Al Jazeera noted that James also hit a late go-ahead fadeaway shot. [1][2]

New York player Karl-Anthony Towns stated that adding James makes a team a lot better. His teammate Josh Hart acknowledged that the Knicks are feeling fatigue six games into the season and need to find a way to get physically ready to play every day, as reported by the New York Post. [2][4]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, James joined the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the new NBA season. He recently faced criticism from former NBA players Jason Williams and Charles Barkley for his behavior during the national anthem at the team's season opener against New York. [6][8][9]
