Las Vegas police officials acknowledged that they cannot determine whether officers or a suspect fired the shot that killed a three-year-old boy during an encounter with law enforcement, according to the New York Post. Authorities previously claimed that 28-year-old Quinton Baker had shot his own son while using him as a human shield to evade police gunfire. [1]
The New York Post reported that Baker, a former running back for Portland State and Western Kentucky universities, was shot dead by police after attacking his girlfriend. Newly released bodycam footage showed Baker advancing on officers while holding a weapon and telling them that he planned to shoot himself, despite police orders for him to drop the weapon. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, police shootings involving stray bullets have previously led to scrutiny, including a 2025 incident in Miami where prosecutors cleared officers after a stray police bullet killed a 28-year-old woman during an exchange of gunfire with an armed suspect. [3]
