The Killarney Cardiac Response Unit has launched its Restart a Heart week to train members of the public in life saving skills, Radio Kerry reported. The organisation will host four public events across County Kerry to teach bystander CPR and the use of defibrillators. [1]
According to Radio Kerry, the events are scheduled to begin at 10am on Saturday, October 17. The training sessions will take place at the Killarney Outlet Centre, Manor West in Tralee, Supervalu in Kenmare, and Centra in Rathmore. [1]
The local initiative forms part of a global effort designed to increase bystander CPR awareness and promote defibrillator usage. The Order of Malta Ireland Ambulance Corps, founded in 1938, is a related voluntary first aid organisation operating in Ireland. [1][2]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, sports and local administration activities are also underway in the region this month, including county football semi-finals at Fitzgerald Stadium and local council proposals regarding roadside fencing near Killarney National Park. [3][4]
