Kanturk have qualified for the Cork Senior A Football Championship final after beating Carbery Rangers, the Irish Examiner reported. The team faced a two-point deficit two minutes into second-half injury time at a wet Macroom on Sunday, 11 October. They managed to overcome the gap to secure their place in the final against Éire Óg. [1]

If Kanturk defeat Éire Óg in the upcoming final, the club will join a small group of teams operating at the Premier Senior level in both football and hurling. Kanturk player Lorcán McLoughlin said that the team has built up strong resolve through everything they have been through together. [1]

Kanturk is a town located in the north-west of County Cork, Ireland, situated at the confluence of the Allow and Dalua rivers. The town lies within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency, approximately 50 kilometres from Cork and Limerick, and about 40 kilometres from Killarney. [2][3]

The local landmark is Kanturk Castle, an unfinished fortified mansion built around 1609 by Dermot MacDonagh MacCarthy. The castle is designated as a National Monument and blends Gaelic and Elizabethan architectural elements. [3]
