Iran supreme leader warns United States and Israel against new attacks

Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned the United States and Israel on Saturday against launching new military strikes following threats of renewed action from both nations. France 24 and the South China Morning Post reported that Khamenei issued the warning in a written statement as concerns grow over a resumption of military conflict in the Middle East. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have recently threatened fresh military action against Iran. [1][3]

The South China Morning Post reported that Khamenei made the statement after his first reported meeting with senior commanders, adding that Iranian armed forces would determine the time and conditions for ending any conflict. The outlet also cited reports of a geographically unrestricted response if attacks occur. Meanwhile, France 24 reported that Iran has no plans to conduct direct talks with the United States, although indirect mediation through Qatar is ongoing. [1][3]

According to CBS News, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that President Trump has not yet decided whether to conduct new strikes on Iran. Speaking at a G20 press conference in Atlanta, Rubio stated that the United States has the ability to achieve its military objectives but would prefer a peaceful outcome. [2]
