The second season of the Tulsa-set dramedy series The Lowdown premieres on FX on Wednesday. UPI and IndieWire reported that the show, created by writer and producer Sterlin Harjo, features Ethan Hawke in the role of citizen journalist or truthstorian Lee Raybon. [1][4][5]

UPI and IndieWire reported that the new season opens with Raybon receiving a local journalism award for an exposé he broke during the first season. UPI reported that Raybon gives a bombastic speech while accepting the award. Variety added that the award is connected to a story Raybon wrote about the death of character Dale Washberg. The new season also features actor Tommy Lee Jones, according to UPI and Variety. [1][4][5]

Hawke is an American actor, author, and filmmaker whose screen and stage career spans four decades. His screen work includes roles in Dead Poets Society, Reality Bites, Training Day, and The Black Phone. [1][10]

In recent comments about the broader entertainment industry, Hawke criticized powerful forces in Hollywood. Fox News reported that Hawke spoke out against greedy individuals who control the industry and predicted a major movement and rebellion against powerful elites within live theater and music. [2]
