United States President Donald Trump said on Saturday outside the White House that it is time for Ukraine to get a new president, according to the New York Post, the Daily Mail, and the journal.ie. The Washington Examiner and thejournal.ie reported that Trump urged Ukraine to choose a leader who can make a deal to end the war with Russia, which has lasted more than four years. [1][2][3][4]

The remarks followed a new agreement announced by the administration to have Russia supply fuel to American and global energy markets. The New York Post and thejournal.ie reported that Russia will supply 300,000 metric tonnes of diesel under the arrangement, while the Daily Mail reported the figure as almost two million. [1][2][4]

According to the New York Post and thejournal.ie, Trump said he told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not to hit Russian refineries, but Zelensky continued the attacks. The journal.ie reported that Trump linked the strikes on Russian refineries to pre-election diesel prices. Axios reported that Zelensky called the agreement between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin not fair and not honest. [1][4][7]

Zelensky has served as president of Ukraine since 2019, taking office during the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war. Trump is serving as the 47th president of the United States. Germany is pursuing new sanctions against Russia despite the agreement between the United States and Moscow, according to thejournal.ie. [4][11][12]
