Cyclone Murasu makes landfall along the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh

Severe cyclonic storm Murasu made landfall along the eastern coast of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh during the early hours of Tuesday, November 3, 2026. DW and Reuters both reported the storm's arrival. DW specified that the cyclone hit close to Ongole in the Prakasam district. [1][4]

The storm delivered heavy rainfall and damaged coastal districts, according to The Hindu. The Times of India reported that the cyclone crossed the Andhra coast with wind gusts reaching 120 kmph. Several districts in the state remain on high alert as the landfall continues. [1][3]

Weather agencies have issued warnings for heavy rainfall over the next 12 hours, DW reported. Citing the Indian Meteorological Department, DW stated that the storm is moving towards the north-northwest.
