Irish broadcaster Ryan Tubridy and his wife Dr Clare Kambamettu are expecting their first child together, according to reports from the Irish Examiner, the Irish Independent, EVOKE, Dublin Live, and the Irish Mirror. The Irish Examiner reported that 53-year-old Tubridy confirmed the news on Instagram on the evening of 1 November 2026, following media speculation over the weekend. [1][2][3][4][5][6]
In his social media caption, Tubridy expressed gratitude for the thoughtful well wishes regarding their upcoming arrival. The Irish Examiner reported that he posted a smiling selfie with his wife and shared that they are looking forward to a very busy 2027. The announcement came almost one year after the couple got married. [1]
Tubridy presented a weekday mid-morning programme on Virgin Radio UK until December 2025. He later launched a new Sunday afternoon show on Times Radio in March 2026. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Tubridy stated at a Fianna Fáil centenary event in October 2026 that he was considering a move into politics. [7][9]
Tubridy was born in Booterstown, Dublin, in 1973 to Patrick Tubridy and Catherine Andrews. His family background includes notable figures in Irish public life and medicine. His paternal grandfather, Seán Tubridy, previously served as a Teachta Dála for Galway. [8][9]
