Bethesda announces title for The Elder Scrolls VI as Sentinel

Bethesda Game Studios has officially revealed the full title of its long-awaited role-playing game as The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Reports from UPI, The Verge, Polygon, and IGN confirmed the announcement was made on Tuesday. Studio chief Todd Howard announced the name during a video celebrating the 40th anniversary of Bethesda. The title reveal was accompanied by a short teaser video. UPI reported that the video features a scroll emerging from sand and ends with a quote attributed to an in-game character named Yazar. The Verge noted that the video celebrating the anniversary ran for less than ten minutes. [1][3]

The announcement comes more than eight years after Bethesda first confirmed the existence of the sixth main installment in the series. Polygon reported that fans had speculated on the Sentinel title a few days prior to the official announcement. [3][4][7]
