United States Senator Bernie Sanders said on Saturday that the Democratic Party failed working-class Americans on economic issues, which drove voters to support President Donald Trump. Fox News reported that Sanders made the comments during an interview on MS NOW, where he addressed why the party lost working-class support. [1]

Sanders pointed to past trade deals that led to the loss of millions of manufacturing jobs as a major factor in voter disillusionment. According to Fox News, he stated that the Democratic Party's failure to resolve financial struggles contributed directly to their declining support among working-class voters. [1]

Bernard Sanders serves as the senior United States senator from Vermont and is the longest-serving independent in congressional history. Although he is a democratic socialist who maintains a close relationship with Democrats, he previously sought the party's presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020. [12]

In addition to his interview, Sanders recently visited Florida to campaign alongside Angie Nixon, as reported by Florida Today and The New York Times. [8][11]
