BBC television star Melissa Drabble and her husband Mark have won substantial damages after suing their neighbour for defamation in the High Court, the Daily Mail reported. The legal action followed a row over a village Bonfire Night event. [1]

The couple, who are both parish councillors, sought 75,000 pounds plus interest and legal costs for defamation and harassment from amusement firm boss Christopher Bramhall, according to the Daily Mail. Mr Bramhall posted accusations on a Facebook group page that has 3,800 members. [1]

In the online post, Mr Bramhall alleged that Mr Drabble was high on drugs while driving, according to the Daily Mail. The post also claimed that Mr Drabble had a knife on his person that police later seized. [1]

The legal victory forced the neighbour to make an apology, the Daily Mail reported. Mrs Drabble is known on television as the Reclaim Queen and appears on the program The Bidding Room. [1]
