Arizona Cardinals fans buy billboards demanding team owner sell the franchise

Frustrated Arizona Cardinals fans have purchased electronic billboard space across the Phoenix area to demand that team owner and president Michael Bidwill sell the franchise, Fox News and BroBible reported. The billboards carry messages including hashtag BIDWILLOUT and sell the team, funded by Cardinals fans. [1][5]

According to BroBible, fans raised nearly 10,000 dollars to secure the advertisement space in response to the team's ongoing struggles. Fox News reported that the supporters took action following a 1-4 start to the team's current campaign. [1][5]

The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area that plays home games at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The franchise was previously located in Chicago and St. Louis before moving to the Phoenix area in 1988. [6][7]

The team has faced prolonged competitive difficulties throughout its history, accumulating 595 wins, 817 losses, and 41 ties through the 2024 season. Despite reaching Super Bowl XLIII after the 2008 season, where they lost 27-23 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the franchise has made only seven playoff appearances since the AFL-NFL merger. [7]
