United States President Donald Trump claimed that a United States Navy blockade has stopped all Iranian ships from crossing the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reported. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Foreign Office stated that it advises against all but essential travel to Saudi Arabia following attacks by Yemen's Houthis on the country. [1]

In an interview with Newsmax broadcast on Thursday, President Trump stated that he does not intend to use nuclear weapons against Iran or deploy ground troops, CNBC reported. According to the Washington Examiner, the administration is considering using the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, known as the mother of all bombs, in potential strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities and energy infrastructure. [2][3][4][5]

The United States imposed a naval blockade on Iran on April 13, 2026, following the failure of talks in Islamabad. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Iranian attacks previously target commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, which historically carried 25 percent of global seaborne oil trade, leading the United States to deploy two aircraft carriers to the Arabian Sea. [10][11][12]

CNBC reported that United States crude oil and Brent crude prices rose sharply as Iran escalated attacks in the Strait of Hormuz. The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran remains unresolved over seven months after its start, the Washington Examiner reported. [4][6][7]
