Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese snapped at camera operators and requested that they stop filming during a visit to the Caribbean earlier this week. The Daily Mail reported that the exchange occurred following questions regarding his busy travel schedule while citizens in Australia face rising mortgage pressures. [1]
The exchange took place during a press conference at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua and Barbuda. According to the Daily Mail, the questions focused on cost of living concerns following a decision by the Reserve Bank of Australia to raise the cash rate to its highest level in 18 years. Mr Albanese stated that the government works each and every day on cost of living. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Prime Minister has also faced pressure domestically regarding cabinet travel expenses. Opposition communications spokeswoman Sarah Henderson previously called on Mr Albanese to stand down Communications Minister Anika Wells over claims involving a taxpayer-funded trip to Adelaide. [4]
