Alexander brothers sentenced to 30 years each for sex trafficking

Brothers Oren, Tal, and Alon Alexander were each sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on Tuesday, October 27, in a New York City courtroom. US District Judge Valerie E. Caproni announced the sentences after hearing from accusers in court, according to the South China Morning Post. The outlet reported that Judge Caproni told the defendants their conduct was monstrous. The South China Morning Post noted that 11 accusers spoke in court, while BBC News reported that victims described the psychological trauma they endured and asked the judge for maximum life sentences. The outlet noted that the brothers were convicted in March on 10 federal counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, sex trafficking by force, and sexual abuse of a minor.
