Kerry intermediate football champions Fossa have re-appointed Adrian Sheehan as their new manager for the upcoming Munster Club Intermediate Football Championship campaign. The Irish Examiner and the Irish Independent both reported that Sheehan returns to the role to fill the vacancy left by Jerome Stack, who unexpectedly departed the club. [1][2]
The Irish Examiner reported that Stack left his position two weeks ago. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Stack stepped down four weeks after leading the club to the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship title. Sheehan most recently completed a management stint with East Kerry prior to taking the Fossa role. [1][6][7]
Sheehan previously managed Fossa during their successful 2023 All-Ireland Junior Club Football Championship campaign, where they defeated Tyrone champions Stewartstown Harps in the final. Current Galway manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice served as coach under Sheehan during that championship run. Sheehan also led Fossa to a victory over local neighbours Listry in the Kerry premier junior decider in November 2022. [1]
The appointment comes as Fossa prepare for their upcoming provincial campaign in the Munster championship, where Sheehan will lead the squad into their next fixtures. [1][7]
