Kerry Gaelic footballer Paudie Clifford has described former Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice as one of the smartest brains in the country following his move to Galway, according to BreakingNews.ie, the Irish Times, and the Irish Examiner. Clifford also confirmed that his club, Fossa, expects to have a new manager in place early next week. [1][2][3][7]

The manager search at Fossa comes after Jerome Stack stepped down from his role, as reported by the Irish Times and the Irish Examiner. Stack departed just four weeks after leading the club to its first Kerry intermediate championship title, with the Irish Times and the Irish Examiner reporting that speculation points to frustration over player training arrangements for those involved with regional side East Kerry. [2][3]

Clifford is a centre back and captain for Fossa who also plays for East Kerry and the Kerry senior county team, where he features alongside his brother David Clifford. Fossa are currently preparing for an upcoming Munster championship campaign following their historic intermediate success. [3][9][12][15]

Fitzmaurice is building a new backroom team at Galway for the 2027 season. The Irish Examiner and Independent.ie reported that UEFA Pro Licence holder Lisa Fallon is set to join as coach, alongside Dave Morris, Gary O'Donnell, Gareth Bradshaw, and Kevin Johnston, as FTMQ News reported earlier.
