Tennessee beats Alabama to deliver Tide back to back losses

Tennessee defeated the sixth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide 26-10 in a Southeastern Conference rivalry game on Saturday. Fox News reported that Tennessee's defense dominated the matchup, holding Alabama to 201 total yards and forcing four turnovers. The result handed Alabama its second consecutive regular-season loss. The game was part of the traditional rivalry known as the Third Saturday in October. CBS Sports reported before the game that sixth-ranked Alabama entered the contest following a 20-17 loss to Georgia, while Tennessee was ranked 14th in the Associated Press poll. [1][2][3]

In other college football action from the same day, Fox News reported that unranked Auburn upset top-ranked Georgia with a game-winning field goal as time expired. The victory followed a late fumble by Georgia and marked the second straight week in which the nation's top-ranked team lost, after Oklahoma defeated Texas the previous week. [1]
