Six Flags Entertainment Corporation temporarily closed nine roller coasters across six amusement parks on Monday following a fatal incident at Six Flags Over Georgia. The New York Post, AP News, CNN, the Daily Mail, Al Jazeera, and the Washington Examiner all reported that one person died and several others were injured during the incident at the park near Atlanta. [1][2][3][4][5][7]

The incident involved the Goliath roller coaster at the theme park in Austell, Georgia. As FTMQ News reported earlier, a parkgoer died after falling from the Goliath ride, and emergency personnel had to evacuate stranded riders from a coaster car stopped on an incline. AP News and the Washington Examiner both reported that four other people were injured alongside the man who died. [1][2][7][12]

According to the New York Post, a spokesperson for Six Flags Entertainment Corporation stated that similar attractions at other parks were closed out of an abundance of caution while staff members and local authorities review the event. Officials have not confirmed how the person died or the exact nature and conditions of the other injuries. Detectives from the Cobb County Police Department major crimes unit are currently investigating the incident. [1]
