Fitness influencer Sam Wood will lodge a bail application in the Supreme Court of Queensland after being denied bail on domestic violence charges on Thursday, October 8. The Daily Mail and ABC News Australia reported that the former Bachelor reality television star was refused bail at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on the Sunshine Coast. [1][2]

Police alleged that the 46-year-old engaged in a domestic violence incident at a holiday unit in Noosa, north of Brisbane. According to the Daily Mail, police accused Mr Wood of throwing his wife into a wall, choking her, and banging her head on the floor. [1][2]

ABC News Australia reported that Mr Wood spent his first night in custody following the hearing. He has since been transferred from the police watch house in Maroochydore to the high-security Brisbane Correctional Centre in Wacol. [2]
