The annual Pumpkimania festival is taking place at Groot-Bijgaarden Castle near Brussels, Euronews reported. The event features thousands of pumpkins fashioned into giant sculptures of foxes, owls, and deer. [1]

According to Euronews, this year's theme is The Magic of the Forest. The pumpkins used for the displays were sourced from Belgium, Germany, and Portugal. The main attraction at the festival is a giant pumpkin that weighs 772 kilograms, which was grown for a weigh-off event held on 26 September. [1]

Groot-Bijgaarden Castle is a 12th-century structure located in the municipality of Dilbeek, within the Flemish Brabant province of Belgium. It was originally built for Almaric de Bigard, who was the first lord of Bigard. [3]

Visitors to the festival can also take part in pumpkin boat rides and seasonal Halloween activities, Euronews reported. The festival will run at the castle grounds until 1 November. [1]
