Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery will operate under the name Skydance after their merger completes, Paramount chief executive officer David Ellison announced on Friday. TechCrunch Media and CNN both reported the name confirmation. According to TechCrunch Media, the transaction is valued at approximately 110 billion dollars and is scheduled to close on October 6. TechCrunch Media reported that Skydance was the original film production company established by David Ellison. The combined entity will merge two major Hollywood film studios along with the streaming platforms Paramount+ and HBO Max. TechCrunch Media added that the enterprise will control television networks including CBS, CNN, MTV, TBS, Comedy Central, and Food Network, alongside popular franchises such as "The Lord of the Rings," "Game of Thrones," the DC Universe, and "Yellowstone."
