North Korea is preparing to restart propaganda loudspeaker broadcasts along its entire border with South Korea within days, according to the Guardian, NBC News, and Reuters. State news agency KCNA carried a statement on Thursday from Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, issuing the warning following an inspection of border fortifications. [1][8][10]

Kim Yo-jong stated that the loudspeakers would be ready to operate across the full length of the border from some time in October, the Guardian and NBC News reported. CNN and the Washington Times also noted that North Korea instructed its border troops to take resolute action if South Korea threatens their safety, following her visit to the demilitarized zone.
