The NFL has confirmed that its upcoming regular season game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints will take place as planned on October 25 at the Stade de France. Fox News and CBS Sports both reported that the league issued a statement on Wednesday addressing safety concerns in Paris, where street protests have continued for a third week. [1][2]

The contest in Saint-Denis, located just north of Paris, marks the first regular season NFL game to be played in France. Fox News reported that the 2026-27 season features a record number of games outside the United States, including fixtures in Australia, England, Brazil, Spain, Germany and Mexico. [1][2]

The social unrest in France follows broader regional demonstrations. As FTMQ News reported earlier, high school students in the Paris suburbs recently engaged in protests over crowded classrooms and inadequate school resources, which resulted in nearly 2,000 arrests across the country during early October. [16]

The league stated that preparations for the game and surrounding events are continuing as scheduled. CBS Sports reported that the league stated it is excited for the inaugural event and continues to prepare for the fixture at Stade de France. [1][2]
