Newly unearthed video footage shows two Chi Phi fraternity members telling investigators that an alleged gang rape at Cornell University was consensual, the Daily Mail reported. The two men were not named in a lawsuit filed by a former student known as Jane Doe, who alleged she was drugged and gang raped at the fraternity house. [1][9][10]
In response to the lawsuit, a bar named in the legal filing stated that it did not serve alcohol to the accuser, according to independent.co.uk and the New York Post. The establishment, named Moonies, stated that its employees strictly followed rules and did not serve alcohol to underage guests. [4][6]
Protesters have swarmed the Cornell campus to support Jane Doe and demand the resignation of the university president, Fox News reported. In a newly obtained phone call, a fraternity brother apologized to Jane Doe regarding backlash from the case, according to the New York Post. [2][3][5]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Cornell University President Michael Kotlikoff previously released an eight-minute video describing the allegations as deeply disturbing and pledging greater transparency regarding the institution handling of the matter. Cornell University was established in Ithaca, New York, in 1865. [8][9][10]
