Nearly half of Muslims living in France would consider leaving the country if Marine Le Pen wins the next presidential election, according to a survey reported by the Daily Mail, Hungarian Conservative, Brussels Signal, and Breitbart News. [1][3][4][5]
The Ifop poll found that 46 per cent of Muslim respondents would contemplate emigration under a Le Pen presidency, the Daily Mail reported. The same outlet said 20 per cent of those surveyed stated they would certainly leave France, while 81 per cent expressed concern that a Le Pen victory would lead to increased aggression and discrimination against Muslims. [1]
Le Pen is the front-runner in polls for the 2027 presidential election, the Daily Mail reported. She previously served as president of the far-right National Rally party from 2011 to 2021 and ran for the presidency in 2012, 2017, and 2022. She has served as a member of the French National Assembly since 2017. [1][6]
The potential political shift comes alongside broader developments in French politics. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Raphaël Glucksmann secured the centre-left nomination for the upcoming presidential contest after winning a primary election with 66 per cent of the vote. [11]
