The Miami Dolphins took their first lead of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday after going up 7-0 against the New York Jets, Fox News reported. Entering the Week 7 matchup at MetLife Stadium, the Dolphins were winless after five games and had played 293 offensive snaps without holding an advantage at any point. [1][3]

According to Fox News, Miami was the only team in the Super Bowl era to fail to hold a lead through their first five losses of a season. The team entered Sunday's game under head coach Jeff Hafley following an 0-5 start to the year, as FTMQ News reported earlier. [1][12][14]

The New York Post reported that the Jets entered the game as 4.5-point favorites under head coach Aaron Glenn. The Jets were looking to bounce back offensively by targeting receiver Garrett Wilson early in the contest, according to the New York Post. [3][4]
