Toy manufacturer Mattel has unveiled a new Barbie Signature collectible doll based on Canadian singer Celine Dion. UPI, the Daily Mail, and Variety all reported on Wednesday that the doll recreates the outfit Dion wore at the 1998 Academy Awards, where she sang My Heart Will Go On from the film Titanic. [1][2][3]
The doll features a navy blue dress and a replica of the Heart of the Ocean blue necklace. UPI and the Daily Mail both noted the long-sleeved turtleneck design of the dress. The Daily Mail added that Dion is 58 years old and is currently performing a comeback residency in Paris. [1][2]
Mattel, an American multinational toy company founded in 1945, produces the Barbie line alongside other major toy brands. The new collectible item is priced at $60. UPI reported that pre-orders opened on Wednesday and expected shipping will occur on or before December 31, while Variety reported that the doll is available exclusively through Mattel Creations.
