LIV Golf has secured potential funding from investment firm BC Partners Credit to help the circuit emerge from bankruptcy ahead of its 2027 season, Radio Kerry, Yahoo Sports, and the BBC reported. Radio Kerry reported the financing offers more than 200 million pounds, while Yahoo Sports and the BBC stated the cumulative financing is targeted at 300 million dollars. [1][2][3][4]

The circuit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States in September 2026 after Saudi Arabia withdrew its funding, according to Radio Kerry and the BBC. Late on Monday, LIV Golf and BC Partners filed a restructuring support agreement in the bankruptcy court case, Yahoo Sports reported. [1][4][5]

The planned restructuring aims to establish a team focused league where players serve as equity owners, according to Yahoo Sports. Radio Kerry and Yahoo Sports also reported that the deadline for players to sign and commit to the league has been extended by two weeks. [1][2][6]

LIV Golf was founded in 2021, and its initial event took place in June 2022 at the Centurion Club near St Albans in the United Kingdom. The circuit expanded its schedule to 14 global events by 2025. [4][13][14]

The BBC reported that court hearings related to the September bankruptcy filing are scheduled to begin this week. The league hopes to complete its supervised restructuring process in early 2027. [2][4]
