Labour would win 353 seats in the House of Commons if an election were held now, according to research by Electoral Calculus published by the Daily Mail. The projections, based on surveys by Find Out Now, give Labour a majority of 56 seats. The Daily Mail reported that the Conservative Party would be left far behind on 90 seats, with Reform UK in third place. [1]
The findings follow growing political focus on the possibility of a snap general election. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch instructed her party to prepare for an early vote amid speculation that Prime Minister Andy Burnham might call an election before Christmas. Badenoch has led the Conservative Party and the Opposition since 2024. [1][5]
Writing in the Guardian, columnist Gaby Hinsliff noted that Burnham and Badenoch have both drawn clear political lines, even though both leaders may still require the support of Green Party and Reform UK voters in future parliamentary contests. [2]
