Israeli authorities have released Palestinian journalist Abed Abou Shhadeh after detaining him for five days without charge, Al Jazeera reported on Sunday. He was held in a Shin Bet facility prior to his release. [1]
Speaking after his release, Abou Shhadeh said his detention was part of political measures intended to intimidate Arab society as a whole. He stated that the most appropriate response is to reaffirm that they are on the right side and on the path of truth. [1]
Abou Shhadeh added that he would continue his work as a journalist following his release. Modern Ghana also reported on his arrest. [1][2]
