Holocaust survivor Lusia Rosenzweig Milch wins New York Emmy at 95

Holocaust survivor Lusia Rosenzweig Milch, aged 95, has won a New York Emmy Award for an animated short film recounting her escape from the Nazis during her childhood. The New York Post reported that the great-grandmother hopes her animated story will help educate younger generations and fight antisemitism. [1]

According to the New York Post, Milch was 10 years old in July 1941 when German troops invaded her hometown of Skalat, Poland, which is located in present-day Ukraine. She survived the Holocaust alone and on the run as a child, after being separated from her parents and younger sister. [1]

The award marks a significant honor for Milch, who expressed a defiant message toward Adolf Hitler after receiving the accolade for sharing her survival story. [1]
