A private funeral service is scheduled to take place in the coming days for Paul O Connor, a 56 year old man who was murdered in County Cork last week. The Irish Examiner reported that Mr O Connor was originally from Connolly Road in Ballyphehane, Cork city, and is survived by three siblings. [1]

The body of Mr O Connor was discovered at lunchtime on October 15 in undergrowth along the banks of the River Blackwater in Ballyellis, Mallow. The Irish Examiner reported that he had been shot twice at close range. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Irish police arrested a man in his 30s on Monday evening in connection with the murder. Investigators believe Mr O Connor had travelled by train from Cork city to Mallow on Wednesday evening prior to his death. Police appealed for witnesses and camera footage recorded near the local waste water treatment plant in Ballyellis. [6]
