German authorities have arrested a former head of German foreign intelligence on suspicion of treason and espionage, according to reports from Reuters, CBC, the Washington Examiner, Al Jazeera, POLITICO, the BBC, Sky News, Yahoo News UK, and the Wall Street Journal. The BBC reported that former spy chief August Hanning is accused of obtaining classified information for a foreign power.
