Chris Sorensen, a co-founder of the American sandwich chain Firehouse Subs, has died at the age of 65. The New York Post, Fox News, and Demokratis.co.id all reported his death. [1][2][5]

Before launching the restaurant business, Sorensen worked as a professional guitarist. He later became a firefighter, following the career path of his father, Robert. [1][2]

Sorensen served at the Brevard County Fire Department and the Jacksonville International Airport Fire and Rescue Department. The New York Post and Fox News reported that he also spent 10 years working as an engineer and EMT at the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, where his father was also employed at the time. Fox News noted that he co-founded Firehouse Subs with less than 100 dollars in the bank. [1][2]

The sandwich chain was founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida, by Chris Sorensen and his brother Robin Sorensen. The company began franchising in 1995 and expanded across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and international markets.
