A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit by the Donald Trump administration that sought to force Harvard University to produce individual applicant admissions records. The Guardian, Fox News, CNN, UPI, and the South China Morning Post all reported the dismissal. The suit was filed as part of an investigation into whether the Ivy League university continues to consider race in its student admissions process. [1][2][3][4][5][6]

United States District Judge Myong Joun granted a request by Harvard to throw out the case. According to the Guardian and Fox News, the judge ruled that the Justice Department failed to establish that it met procedural requirements before filing the legal action against the university. The Guardian added that the judge did not issue a ruling on the actual merits of the case. [1][3]

Fox News reported that the judge dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice. This action leaves the door open for the federal government to file a future legal challenge against the university regarding its admissions records. [2][3]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, federal judges have recently dismissed other legal actions connected to Donald Trump, including a lawsuit involving Alaska Senate election results and a defamation suit against The Wall Street Journal. [13][14]
