Elon Musk spending millions on Republican political action committees

Billionaire Elon Musk is donating millions of dollars to Republican super political action committees and political candidates ahead of the November midterm elections, the Washington Examiner reported. Federal Election Commission filings confirm that the funding continues even as Elon Musk takes a step back from the inner workings of President Donald Trump's administration. The donations aim to help the Republican Party keep control of Congress against Democratic efforts to flip the House of Representatives and the Senate. [1]

The Washington Examiner reported that Elon Musk is nearly single handedly keeping the campaign of Republican Texas Senate nominee Ken Paxton afloat. The political spending follows other recent legal developments involving his campaign efforts. CNN and Forbes both report that Elon Musk has settled fraud lawsuits regarding his one million dollar giveaways to voters during the 2024 election. [1][6][8]

The political spending comes alongside new developments across his business operations. The Guardian and the Daily Mail both reported that Elon Musk unveiled a Tesla Roadster prototype that uses SpaceX rocket thrusters to fly, flip, and land. The demonstration took place at a SpaceX facility in Texas, where Elon Musk claimed the sports car can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than a second. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the vehicle is scheduled to be available by 2028, though Tesla stock fell following the demonstration. [2][4][7][10]

Elon Musk also continues to face scrutiny over his satellite technology and government efficiency initiatives. DW reported that his Starlink network has become critical in conflict zones, even as its geopolitical influence raises concerns. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Ukrainian military recently experienced operational disruptions with high speed Starlink connections. Meanwhile, the Washington Examiner reported that federal agencies have resisted efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency to reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy. [3][5][9]
