President Donald Trump signed legislation on Wednesday that requires the federal government to publicly report major infrastructure and development projects that are significantly over budget or delayed. The Washington Examiner reported that the new law targets federal projects that run far past their original schedules and financial plans. [1]
The measure was sponsored by Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa. According to the Washington Examiner, the law officially named the Billion Dollar Boondoggle Act requires federal agencies to make public disclosures about any project that is at least $1 billion over budget or five years behind schedule. As FTMQ News reported earlier, the administration is also operating ahead of the 2026 United States midterm elections, which are scheduled for November 3, 2026, with all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 Senate seats up for election.
