Geothermal startup Dandelion Energy and Lennar, one of the largest homebuilders in the United States, have completed construction of nearly 100 homes south of Denver, Colorado, Grist reported. The new residential development is situated at the base of the Front Range of Colorado. Grist reported that every house in the suburban development is equipped with its own ground-source heat pump for heating and cooling. [1]
According to Grist, the ground-source heat pumps use less electricity than even the most efficient air-source heat pumps. The partnership between Dandelion Energy and Lennar seeks to test a method to accelerate the adoption of residential geothermal systems across the United States. Grist reported that the systems could help Colorado achieve its climate goals while reducing peak energy demand. [1]
