Police officers fatally shot a McDonald's worker inside a restaurant in Lodi, California, after he shot and injured a female coworker, the New York Post reported. Officers from the Lodi Police Department responded to the fast-food location at West Lodi Avenue and Church Street at around 9:30 a.m. on August 24. [1]

Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a report of an armed person in a storage area at the back of the business, according to the New York Post. Video footage from inside the restaurant shows the man, identified as Jonhatan Anguiano, pulling a gun from his backpack while standing alongside two coworkers. [1]

McDonald's is an American multinational fast-food restaurant chain founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California. By the end of 2025, the chain operated more than 45,000 locations across more than 100 countries. [2]
