The United Kingdom Department for Transport has launched a review into airport drop-off fees after prices increased sharply at major terminals. BBC News reported that average drop-off charges at major airports have increased by one third since the summer of 2025. [1]

According to BBC News, Gatwick and Stansted airports are now the most expensive locations, with charges rising from 7 pounds to 10 pounds. Drop-off fees at Edinburgh Airport increased from 6 pounds to 8.50 pounds. Fees at Bournemouth Airport rose from 5 pounds to 8 pounds, matching charges at Leeds Bradford and London City airports. Airports serve as critical infrastructure in aviation, supporting global trade and tourism while generating trillions of dollars in global economic output. London Heathrow Airport serves as the primary and largest international airport in the London airport system. [2][3]
