The decision was confirmed by additional reports from The Times of Israel, RFI, the Toronto Star, and the Times Union. [1][2][3][4][5]
According to Al Jazeera, a nine-member independent panel at the Independent Complaints Authority for Radio and Television voted 5-4 to uphold four public complaints against French-language network Radio Television Suisse. The broadcast aired on February 16 during the 2026 Winter Olympics. [1]
Al Jazeera reported that the commentary questioned the participation of Israeli bobsled team captain Adam Edelman and referred to him as a Zionist during the event coverage. [1]
Israel has sent a team to each Winter Olympic Games since 1994, after its National Olympic Committee became a member of the European Olympic Committees in the same year. [6]
