Sir Ian McKellen has been granted permission to repair a rotten rear balcony at his 16th century pub, the Daily Mail reported. The 87-year-old actor can now fix the damaged decking and stairs at The Grapes pub, located in Limehouse, east London. [1]
According to the Daily Mail, the actor purchased the Grade-II listed public house 15 years ago. The property backs onto the River Thames near Canary Wharf, where Sir Ian often participates in the local pub quiz. [1]
