One dead and two missing after fishing boat disappears off Lewis

Emergency services are searching for two missing fishermen after a boat failed to return to Lewis in the Western Isles, BBC News reported. Police confirmed that the body of one man was found at approximately 02:45 following an overnight search. [1]

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency stated that the alarm was raised at about 21:20 on Tuesday after the vessel became overdue. A major rescue operation was launched off the Port of Ness in north Lewis, involving a plane, two helicopters, two lifeboats, and local volunteers. [1]
