A wave of misleading content has circulated online during student protests across France, France 24 reported. A widely shared TikTok video falsely claimed that the French military had deployed an armoured vehicle against demonstrators. France 24 found that the vehicle was simply returning to a nearby military base. [1]

Other online posts recycled video footage from 2023 retirement protests and presented it as current student demonstrations, according to France 24. Fact-checkers also identified an image created with artificial intelligence that was falsely presented as a police officer being attacked. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, high school students have blocked hundreds of schools since late September over missing teachers and poor classroom conditions. Trade unions joined the Paris demonstrations, where police have used tear gas, batons, and riot-control rounds against violent protesters. [3]
