Manchester woman dies of skin cancer at age 30

Chelsea Tantum, a 30-year-old woman from Manchester, has died of skin cancer, the Daily Mail reported. She was diagnosed with melanoma at the age of 28 after using tanning beds regularly for a decade. Tantum had used sunbeds since she was 15 years old to compete with her friends for the best tan. [1]

According to the Daily Mail, doctors discovered the cancer when it was already at an advanced stage. The disease had spread to several parts of her body, including her spine, ribs, pelvis, lungs and liver. Just weeks before her 30th birthday, Tantum was told that the cancer had also spread to her brain. [1]

Despite receiving a terminal diagnosis, Tantum spent her final years campaigning to warn other people about the dangers of using sunbeds, the Daily Mail reported. [1]
