London video editor earns six figures editing short clips for social media

Eknoor Singh, a 22-year-old resident of London, works as a professional social media clipper earning more than 120,000 pounds a year, the BBC reported on October 13, 2026. He creates short, vertical videos that are published on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. The BBC reported that he uses only a mobile phone and an internet connection to perform his work. [1]

The business model relies on clients who hire clippers to edit longer footage into shorter formats. Clients include clothing brands, record labels, movie studios, podcasters, and influencers, according to the BBC. The editor reviews the source video, creates 30 to 60-second clips highlighting the most engaging segments, and posts them online. Singh explained to the BBC that his earnings increase as his clips accumulate more views. [1]

The clipping trend often features major pop culture figures such as American singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter. Carpenter gained initial prominence starring as Maya Hart on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World from 2014 to 2017.
